| Like in the days of old, for all you that are coming back, the ToD system will work very much the same way.
For those of you that are new comers, a ToD is a token you need to receive to proceed past level 10 AND/OR receive a PrC class (ex: weapon master, assassin, etc.) I should also quickly make a note here that there are separate tokens required for each of the different prestige classes, but I will go into that in a different post.
Now, a Token of Distinction will be given to those that display exceptional roleplay ability. That is the main thing, as this is a roleplay server. Some may achieve their ToD sooner then others, there are several reasons this could happen. For example, let's say player A makes a Banite cleric, they play this character so well that they earn their ToD by third level. The same player then turns around and makes a paladin of Lathander. After playing a Banite for so long it may take them a bit longer to settle into a character concept that is so radically different from their previous one, thus it may take longer to get their ToD.
The big thing to remember is going to be patience. Keep doing what you're doing. Just because you don't receive your token the second you hit level 10 does not necessarily mean you're doing something wrong. Maybe we just haven't seen you play your character yet, or we may want to see something more.
Another reason for a delay in receiving your ToD is you may not be completely immersed in your character. Example: you spend too much time in OOC talk when you should be roleplaying instead.
Yet another example could be that you're not consistent with your character. Example: your friend is a known Zhent and you are a known member of the Dagger Falls Militia. You 'stumble' across said friends body while out for a walk and decide to raise him. Such an action could be something that would either slow your receiving a ToD or perhaps having it taken away for a time. And yes, you can be stripped of your ToD for different offences. (For examples of such offences, please see the list of rules posted in the appropriate section.) | |

| I would like to clarify one thing: Having a ToD is a responsibility. When you get one, it is your job to interact with others, especially the newer players. This does not mean going out to kill with/for them. It means talking in town, helping them find their character, and helping them via tells and such to know what the server expects...like not running in town. This means that if you fail to do your "job", you may find yourself without a ToD. | |
