PostSubject: Celdur Dy'ner(Description maybe a bit to long though)   Celdur Dy'ner(Description maybe a bit to long though) I_icon_minitimeSat Jul 19, 2008 2:03 am

A young moon elf bard, only at the age of 80. Celdur Dy'ner spent his earliest years *infancy* in his small unknown elven community in some forest the main deity worshiped there was Selune. From an early age he had a fascination of Bards, their performances and definitely their appeal as a class. None of the visiting bards would take him on as an apprentice, normally they had apprentices of their own and in other cases were simply not looking for one.

Tired of waiting and never learning anything new Celdur Dy'ner decided to hit the trail. At this point a Selunite he appreciated the moon all the more. He has traveled to many places. Staying only briefly at all. Indeed he has often forgotten places he has been to. Not that he has anything to say in regards to the ones he remembers. He honestly believes he has no talent as a Bard and that is reflected in almost every instance outside of combat that he tries to prove himself in.

Celdur Dy'ner is a self taught bard and thus he has favored the combat side. He has a particular interest in dueling and favors rapiers as a weapon of choice. He can sing, he can perform. He is highly charismatic. Yet situations never seem to go as planned. This is the tragic legacy of Celdur Dy'ner.

Very enthusiastic and optimistic in general he does have a conflicting dry sense of humor. In battle he can only be described as a swashbuckler. Enthusiastically diving head first into enemies that are likely to strong for him.

Even by elven standards he is very handsome, with long elegant silvery blue hair and chiseled features. Despite a lack of results he holds the belief that appearance is very important as a person and most of all as a Bard. He has spent more gold on equipment's appearance then on its quality (despite most of it being masterwork and enchanted).
He has light episodes of depression when he fails at something he feels a Bard should accomplish with ease.

Celdur Dy'ner is unnaturally quick at making friends (for an elf) he holds little or no prejudice though he does prefer those who fight to those who sit back and assist. Despite being a caster he makes a big effort to fight close up so anyone else not doing the same in their profession can be seen as lazy by him.

Celdur Dy'ner prides himself on being a duelist or at the least a dueling enthusiast he works hard to train in parry and precise weapon styles which works well with his weapon of choice the rapier which he considers quite the refined weapon, a weapon of the civilized if you will though he respects the strength it takes to utilize other weaponry.

Celdur seeks adventure in hopes of finally making an epic of his own and earning renown among fellow bards. His greatest goal is to make himself into a fine bard to be recognized as such. Somewhere along his travels he converted to a deity he felt was more him, this being Hanali Celanil, he is after all a romantic at heart though his low self-esteem and reserved ideals make it hard to express such.

It is not surprising to see Celdur display quite eccentric behavior.

PostSubject: Re: Celdur Dy'ner(Description maybe a bit to long though)   Celdur Dy'ner(Description maybe a bit to long though) I_icon_minitimeMon Aug 04, 2008 12:03 am

Celdur Dy'ner has recently taken to using only cloth armor. When he lost his enchanted chain mail on an adventure he was not willing to go back and look for it for what defeated him would also be there.
Another reason for not simply buying new armor is that he feels if he is to be a fine swordsmen relying on armored protection would only hinder him in his efforts.

Recently Celdur Dy'ners young age has gotten out at least amongst the Elven community, this has caused him to react rather edgy to jibes at his age and plain ageism.

Hedonism and Sadism while not a part of Celdur Dy'ner are beginning to enter his mentality.
He was actually intrigued by the temple in Teshwave as opposed to the normal repulsion to pain and suffering most feel.

Recently efforts to convert Celdur Dy'ner to a banite have been made. He is very interested in it though he is only going by one account of what being a Banite actually means. It is likely he will undergo tests of his faith in Hanali Celanil.

People may notice that he does show some outward prejudice towards Halflings, to be sure he is not racist to them. In fact his statements in regards to their race are all in good fun he'll treat them just as fairly as any other while making remarks about their known stereotype to be thieves or at least overly curious in regards to items and their share of the loot. He knows full well that the crime rate is higher in cities that have a population rich in halflings but also knows that race is not an indication of personality and thus while saying things that might be offensive he is generally friendly to these small people.

He has pledged his services to Wayrest but is not unafraid to admit that this was for selfish reasons, he merely wanted benefits from joining a faction and his personal preference was of his own kind. Not to say he does not give back to the faction, recently he combined his efforts with others to test the gnoll and hobgoblin alliance by sabotaging their food supply. This was done after many attempts and not succeeded till in a group with Ayana, Draccan, Lialith and him.

It should be noted that Celdur Dy'ner shares a close friendship with the exiled Wizard Gorfind. This is from years of traveling along the same path.
While the fact that Gorfind can not get into Daggerfalls sometimes tests the friendship they generally meet up often.

Celdur at the moment favors Wayrest, the next in line would be the Zhentarim who he kills but respects to an extent. He is not overly fond of the Daggerfalls militia but gives them appropriate respect within the dale.

Celdur dislikes killing deer but often will do for food.

Celdur is a ladies man and will always go out of his way for one who has charmed him (Basically any female).
He has lately become distraught at being attacked by Dryads and having to kill them to defend himself. He was outright furious when a Zhentarim pikemen laughed after he killed one.

Celdur Dy'ner -

Elven male 10th level Bard.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.
Languages: Common, Elven.
Place of Origin: unstated.

Combat/Tactics: Prepares himself with buffs and fights close up with rapier. Not above picking things off with a bow though.

Appearance: Handsome and youthful. Has eyes that could be identified as blue or grey though it should be noted on rare instances they can appear as if they are shining gold small yet possible indication of different lineages to just that of a Silver Elf or maybe a sign of lady goldheart herself. His skin while a pale color for an elf is not as pale or blue as one might expect from a moon elf ofcourse they are diverse so there is little reason to pay heed to this. Celdur has Long wild hair that at times reaches his shoulders while he generally tries to keep it clean and looked after he makes no effort to make it neat or organised. Tall and lean and lean for an elf Celdur is but ofcourse as an elf his height is smaller then that of a human. Not very muscular build but nether the less he is at the level of fitness one would expect of a traveler.

Personality: Hedonistic, honorable and honest.

Motivation/Goals:
- Celdur's motivation is just to experience things, get what he can out of life. He travels out of fun and interest. His defualt motivation would be wealth as he rarely does anything for nothing though this is not to say his definition of wealth is purely judged by coin. Personal gain or wealth is not considered as high on his list of value as fun, companionship or experience it is just his view of mutual exchange.

Allies/Companions: His allies/companions would mainly be Gorfind, Ayana, Lialith and to an extent Draccan.
Respects Thorias and considers him a good ally in times of trouble.
He is allied with the Elves of Wayrest.

Foes/Enemies: Anyone who should choose to attack him. He has a minor dispute with Roland but both characters have tended to put that behind them to an extent. He has a grudge against Furin Palefist. Reiber Tannes irritates him endlessly with racist verbal and body language from the get go.

- Code of Honor -

Be tolerant, but not accepting.
Live by a higher law, your own.
Strive for strength, even if it fails you.
Be loyal as long as they are worth your loyalty.
A fight on equal ground is a righteous one.
Law and order breed oppression.
Rights are earned through action not existence.
Cowardice earns death.
Your life should be considered important above all others.
Be confident and proud.
Pain builds character.
honor and integrity are worth dieing for.
Submission should be resisted always.
Treasure your mind.
Keep your mind open but guarded.

Celdur Dy'ner now holds a grudge against Lialith and Draccan who he feels wronged him under the false use of an oppressive and wrong law.
He is annoyed at the militia for that matter. If Daggerfalls was not his prime meeting place he would probably leave it all together but since its where jobs and adventure lie he is without much choice.
The fact that neither of them chose to defend his side of the story when a stranger did is not lost on him, it makes him feel betrayed.

Celdur's fued with the militia stems from them giving him a fine. While the fine was small and hardly much of a loss he feels it is an injustice to be fined for defending himself. Even his stance was defensive he casted protection and only countered hits(parry mode).
They argued both parties should receive equal punishment for both fighting inside the town even though Celdur Dy'ner did in fact suggest that the fight be taken outside the walls and 'outside the law'. Gorgon chose no, so whether Celdur Dy'ner caused the fight to happen or not the place was not his choice nor was the time. He was willing to pay the fine for both participants out of generosity to Gorgon who he feels is fun to fight, he secretly likes Gorgon in fact for fighting him where others choose not to back up their words. Gorgon refused to allow him to pay because he felt the Militia had stolen from him and he should get compensation back from them.

It seems Celdur Dy'ner is capable of making enemies just as quickly as friends unfortunately for him he has very confrontational beliefs and due to his fierce honesty feels compelled to voice them in situations. All those 'by the law' kinds of people find this absolutely infuriating. Law is law to so many that anything other then that becomes 'wrong'.

Refined and changed.

Celdur Dy'ner

# Name:Celdur Dy'ner
# Played by:RalandFF7 (Raland, Knives)
# Gender:Male
# Age:81
# Race:Moon elf
# Birthplace:Close to Yuirwood
# Hometown/Homeplace:Unstated
# Family:Mother was a Moon Elf, his father was a Celadrin unlike most Celadrin his father was half-Eladrin half-Moon elf(normally a sun elf), making Celdur roughly 1/ 4 Eladrin and 3/4 Moon Elf (on a note he has not inherited this strongly, all it does it give him a natural talent towards magic, which is part of his explanation of being a bard, he can self-learn arcane tricks and what not)
# Personality:Vain, critical and detached
# Backstory:Lengthy
# Appearance: A mix of handsome and Beautiful, evaluated more.
# Deity(If any):Hanali Celanil
# Alignment:Chaotic Good
# Weapons used:Rapier, fists.
# Armor used:None, he wears fine clothing, even to battle.
# Tasks and Quests:Stop sinking into apathy, discover an ambition worth persueing. Gain a small following.
# Affiliations/Jobs(If they're in the guard or sommat):None, hell he tends to be a vagrant.
# Themesong: Mother by Danzig or Hellraiser by Motorhead/Ozzy Osbourne (both good)
Mother- Danzig= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgSn0SbQJQI
Hellraiser- Motorhead=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOwP6V6VRcY
Hellraiser- Ozzy Osbourne=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Pbl4x1OKqs

He is rarely described by anyone, but it may be noticed that he is handsome, his features all work to compliment each other like a living statue. He is blatently elven with his fine features, his oddly colored skin and hair and most notable ears.
His hair is a brilliant silver, though it might pass for an incredibly faint grey/gray. His skin is bizarre, like moon elves, it has a blueish tint but where there would be a very faint pink to contrast to the blue, it is a very faint gold, though one would have to look hard to see it. His eyes are pale blue. He often wears a choker or some other neckwear. He is tall for an elf, just reaching six feet.

Celdur wears pants that are the opposite of tight with much movement. his pants eventually tuck into his shin guards which seem more ornamental then for any protection. His belt has pouches to store things for easy use. The belt also bears scabbards for his rapiers. His build is more athletic then muscular. His shirt has a V shaped collar. He sometimes opts to wear an eyepatch, either eye, does not matter. Around his neck he has the "Winsome Rose" of Hanali Celanil, which serves as a symbol of faith.

He dresses in colors that change all the time, seemingly at mood, his personal favorites are, Blue and purple. Lately he has been wearing a grey, black and red outfit due to the loss of his enchanted outfit.

His favorite drinks are spirits, which he always keeps on him. His social habbit often gets him in trouble with those who know his age, which is eighty-one. He is considered too 'Young' To drink by humans and elves alike for not reaching the one hundred and twenty mark.

Celdur Dy'ner was born in the Yuirwood area, at the time there was a temporary camp of elven immigrants from areas such as Damara, Vaasa and the dalelands. He only knew his mother, his father being a Celadrin on a fling before heading on the path again. He was raised like many elves as the camp immitated the lifestyle of the elves. This was where he his proficiencies and learning came through. Eventually he became discontent with the lifestyle that worked in a repeatetive pattern. He remained in this though with a feeling of dislike for a peaceful existance growing. When a Bard came a long, even bested some of the fighters in swordplay, he pleaded to be an apprentice, the bard was not taking on anymore and left not to soon after. After more rejections from travellers he decided to head off and learn it himself. He travelled to the human areas of Aglarond, Altumbel and it's capital Spandeliyon.
These experiences were not entirely positive, but he gained a respect for the way the pirates and less noble humans kept things interesting, kept the flow going. One experience was not enough though, for he soon travelled along much of Faerun earning experiences a long the way. The more remote the better as that was where he could find the truly 'interesting' people. Though he has fantasies of seeing larger places such as Waterdeep and Neverwinter.
He accepts good and bad situations with general apathy only trying to fight it off like fire in the night with amusement and entertainment.

He is a dueling enthusiast, unless he has beaten by a person before he is very open to accepting challenges, it is not hard to persuade him to fight someone entirely out of his class as long as he does not die. He does not mind pain, infact he says it reminds him he is alive (though he might grumble or moan during the actual taking of it), just positive on the afterthought.
He has a deep sympathy for kobolds.

He is chaotic and ranges between good and neutral. He is generally prone to good and noble acts but risks moving entirely out of that allignment often, his idea of right and wrong is warped though the times he acts by principal become more and more rare.
He will not lie, he will face death before he lies, but he will hide the truth, he will verbally dance around the information that people need, he is deceptive without actually officially lieing. He is much more darker then the good would imply, but he constantly tries to find his idea of good and act by it, almost in denial of the apathetic side of his personality.
